The Mature Adult Program at The Pavilion

Senior adult treatment at NWTX Pavilion HospitalPeople are living longer thanks to the advances of modern medicine. However, while many older adults are in relatively good physical health, they may be struggling with debilitating behavioral health problems. Many older adults struggle with adapting to the continual changes such as loss of physical ability, loss of friends and family, chronic pain,  deterioration of thought processes and dementia.

The Mature Adult Program at The Pavilion provides inpatient treatment and follow-up partial hospitalization for seniors with behavioral health needs. A medical doctor and psychiatrist follow each patient and social workers and therapists develop discharge plans to encourage independent living. Some problems treated in the Mature Adult Program include:

  • Depression
  • Feelings of wanting to die
  • Onset of dementia
  • Medication management in a hospital setting
  • Psychosis
  • Insomnia that causes mental health problems
  • Loss of mental functioning
  • Unresolved grief
  • Guilt
  • Social isolation
